Sneak Peek from Sh*t Happens!

There’s more newness coming our way from Ana Boogiewoogie’s Sh*t Happens. Here’s a sneak peek of one outfit from Ana’s new line, which will be Japanese street wear inspired (release is slated to be within a couple weeks). This is called, “Kawaii Kappuke-ki,” which translates to “cute cupcake.” Note: these are the pictures that Ana sent along.

Now this outfit comes with TONS: two different skirts, bracelets for both arms, gloves, two ties, adorable socks, hightops (which I really, really want), white cardigan on jacket layer, top, glitch pants, hair, and even a shape if you should choose to use it! All the clothing and textures are 100% hand drawn. This outfit is a collaboration with a few designers, so read on to see who and what.

For starters, these sneakers (what I call them here in Boston heh) are adorable. They are super cute pink and red hightops made by Gaia Goodnight, owner of Darkstar Designs who also did the cupcake backpack that comes with the outfit.

The hair you see is called “Maria” by Kimberly Foss who owns Overdose (see previous entry here). The shape is made by Noelle Hathaway of Elle, Inc.

Now you don’t get the skin with the outfit, but the skin worn in Ana’s pictures is by Philo Sion of Hybrid fame. Her new store is called Eat Me (haha) and this skin looks perfect with the outfit on Ana I think. (I will add the slurl when I get online much, much later).

Look for this and more coming soon at Sh*t Happens! EDIT - looks like the outfit will be $375L (with shape sold separately). You can pick up the hair, which is already available for $150 at Overdose.

Woo’s!

I hadn’t been a big bangle wearer until I got my hands on some of the designs from Ana Boogiewoogie (Sh*t Happens blogged previously), but now I am totally addicted. So if you’re a fan of bangles - particularly brightly colored ones - then you have to go to Woo’s. That’s Wednesday Soon’s shop, where in addition to bangles in a gazillion colors, shapes and stacks, you can find potentially the cutest flips (flip flops) in SL - also in colors that are seriously fun.

Each bangle stack (shown) is $90L and comes with a left- and a right-arm version. They’re somewhere around 45 prims each so when I rezzed the lot of them to snap them, I returned a small chunk of my house inadvertently as I was almost out of prims lol. Anyway, here are some of my favorites, clockwise from upper left:

  • By the Powah of Grey Skullz
  • Tangerine Tango Stripe
  • Chocolate Creeeeeaaaam
  • Powderpuff Pink Posies & Stripes

Wednesday definitely knows how to use color and ooooo the shiny :) She’s also considering a clothing line to come, so I can only hope that if she does, she’ll make bold colors a staple.

Below are her Basic Black Messy Slims, which should be available soon along with some other goodies.

Be sure to check out her new main store. Woo’s!

ps - I know SL is being a butt and no one can TP, rez or even spend L$ right now. But if you DO manage to get in, see your $L and actually purchase something, these bangles are all copy/no transfer, so you’re safe :)

Men’s Unmentionables at Mercury

Okies so all the lady bloggers have done the women’s wear at Mercury, so Blue Hair is modeling the men’s today. There are very few items for men currently…and two of them are underwear :P

These are the Mercury Men’s Boxers and A-shirt in white obviously. These are $150L and well, they’re really quite simple. I’m just gonna let the pictures speak for themselves with one note: you’ll see that on the top, the edges above the shoulders should be aligned a lot better if you look at that type of thing. Aside from that, it’s pretty much what you see here. EDIT - it appears the Mercury designs were done by Iris Seale and other alts, which I guess was clear from the start. If you still enjoy the items from Mercury or any store, it shouldn’t matter who made ‘em.

As everyone knows, there are some pretty interesting ladies outfits at the shop as well. My personal favorites are the hats and one of the hairs, one of which you can see in my Flickr stream. Jelly went to the opening, so you can read her take here. Happy Rezday and *mwahhhh* to my other favorite funky hair-colored person :) Jelly turned SL 3 today so if you see her, be sure to wish her many happy returns :D

Marni Grut and Royal Blue

I ran into Marni Grut of Royal Blue recently and had the chance to chat about her designs…her most recent being these fun sunglasses, which come in oodles of bright and basic colors ($450L fatpack; $100L singles).

Marni is perhaps best known for what I guess could be described in SL as edgy designs, for instance the Frills shirt ($100L) and Pirate Cove Coat ($200L) below. I had actually been wanting to get a closer look at her designs for a while and now that I have, I’m loving her creativity and bold approach.

My favorite piece is definitely the Frills shirt. If it’s possible for something to be simple and yet so not simple, then that’s how I might categorize this top. It comes on the shirt or undershirt layers so it might be a bit short for use with anything other than high-waisted trousers or as Marni has it in her store, under her Tarton Neon dress. The Pirate Cove coat is very well done in a rich burnt orange that I love. It does come with trousers as well although the coat, with prim collar and tails, is obviously the main attraction.

Saving the wildest for last…the Anti Reactionary dress (I should have asked about the name) is unlike any other dress I have seen in SL. It has an amazingly delicate, layered prim puff skirt and shoulder accents over a gray system skirt and sweetheart top. You can also wear the dress without the shoulder accents (which I preferred) or even without the prim skirt, but then that would defeat the purpose completely wouldn’t it? The Anti Reactionary dress is $200L and is 100% left of center, which is sometimes what we need from fashion in either life.
