Last Call Catwalk Part II (womens)
Yes! Part deux of Last Call’s Catwalk collection is here and just in time for the weekend when you hopefully have more time to take these works of art - yes, that’s hyperbole and yes it’s warranted - out on the SL town.
I am no designer but I have to imagine it’s incredibly hard to stay inspired when you’re releasing so much, so often. However, I know Ginny has been especially excited about these collections in part because they actually inspire those of us wearing her designs. I particularly like the way Caliah Lyon keeps showing us how she mixes with Ginny’s pieces.
Catwalk part II doesn’t disappoint in any way. Each design, while dramatic and very special, is ready-to-wear for so many occasions. My favorites in this release are the dresses…and I will show you why. (click on any pics for full size)
First is “Marlene” - and though it comes with numerous skirts (four actually) - the fully bustled skirt with amazingly perfect sculpted bow is my preferred look for this gorgeous gown. You also get a full skirt (un-bustled), straight skirt and short skirt, two tank separates (solid and slinky), dress bodice, two skirt bases, and then tons of layers so you can mix it up with other pieces in your closet. Finally, you also get the cutest pair of tied panties too. I adore this dress and will now go about the task of finding somewhere to wear it
Next is “Lida,” which is my favorite of the pant sets in this release. Lida has light breeches (which I copied and shortened to put into Lyra’s boots), an incredibly ornate jacket, sculpted sleeves with fur accents (yum!), shoulder snaps which are perfect and come in two sizes to best fit your shoulders, and then if you should choose to wear the breeches longer, two sets of sculpted cuffs (smooth and slouchy). Imagine the mix and match opportunities with these great pieces.
Then there’s “Aeryn,” which is a very sophisticated autumn suit that comes with two jackets (one with lace corset and one without), skirt base, flexi skirt, and two types of jacket sleeves (laced and plain). I stupidly didn’t get any snaps of the lace corseted jacket facing forward but you can see all of Ginny’s ads here of course. Check out the back of the jacket! That’s something unexpected and makes the suit special back to front. I think this is a great transition design as many of us move into fall.
Another of my favorites is “Marguerite,” which like so many of these designs, has numerous ways to wear it. I think it’s very old hollywood actually…I’ve picked my two favorite combinations for the skirts though I must tell you, there are tons more ways to do this. With this design you get several finishing accents to polish the look - a feather boa and two wraps, with and without brooch. Then there’s the long, ruffle bustled skirt, full skirt, straight skirt, and two short skirts! Yes, you read right - that’s five skirt options! You get the most sexy top on different layers and all the necessary skirt bases to wear with whatever combination you choose. My favorite of the skirts were the tiered bustled skirt and the short, adorned skirt.
This is “Estella” with the richest chocolate burnout trousers and velvet jacket. Also perfect for autumn. I hope you see some of the detail on the trousers in this completely un-retouched snap because the color and texture are simply scrumptious (and no photo treatment from me should take away from how it looks in-world). The red velvet jacket comes with and without shirt, and you can add the sculpted sleeves if you like. Of course, you also get two types of sculpted cuffs as well.
Finally this is “Yasmin,” which is a gorgeous gown accented with antique lace trim. It comes with both a full skirt and straight skirt. The bodice is provided with and without the delicate shrug - and of course, all those pieces are also offered on alternate layers for mixing later on. Some people like dramatic sleeves and some don’t, but I adore them on this dress (worn with shrug top) and think they create a beautifully different look that will make you stand out. Yasmin also comes in other colors that you can see on the Last Call blog.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go pester Blue Hair for locations to sport these lovelies
