Sioxie Legend has been in SL for nearly a year, designing for I think, nearly as long. Over this time she’s been honing her skills at SecondWave Apparel, providing designs that feature eye popping colors and rich, realistic textures.
My first exposure to Sioxie’s work was the Lace Tanks released in August, which people seemed to love. Recently, she’s released a ton of new tops that are perfect for spicing things up color wise. They’re all great for layering, which is much appreciated.
First are the “Garbo” tops. They come in a host of cool tones and….

Fabulous shimmery prints…

But the real surprise with these tops are the backs, where the fabric drapes perfectly.

I am wearing the Ingrid high waisted trousers from Last Call as the tops were a tad short otherwise.

A few days ago I wore a hip hugging sweater dress from Lolita Bellman’s Pampered Princess shop and got a lot of questions on where it was from and does it come in other colors (why yes, yes it does) and what the hell are you wearing under it???? So in case you haven’t been by to check out the rest of Lolita’s store, here’s a sampling of what you can find - color, fun, and irreverent styles are the focus. I think it’s safe to say that Lolita offers fashions that are quite unexpected. It’s definitely a change of pace for me and I whole heartedly approve.
Starting with my favorite of what I sampled, the “Party Cheetah” dress. The cheetah print halter top coupled with the shiny taffeta skirt is unorthodox and completely fun. I felt like I should pack up and head to Miami circa 1985 - although I’m a child of the 80s so I probably wouldn’t have been sporting any of this back then

I added the new Chanel studs and not so new chunky heart necklace from Miam Miam to complete a perfectly excessive look
All are scripted for easy metal and color change. Oh and of course, my shoes are the Aileen heels from Last Call Vamp. I told you, I married them.

It’s a skin day I guess…I am getting on a plane in just a few hours so while I try to stay up before heading into what will be the longest travel day ever, here’s my take on the new Fall skins from Celestial Studios. I am betting that many of you have already made the trek (holy sale!). It’s so very worth it if you haven’t and with such ridiculously good prices, you can experiment.
I’m loving the rich and shimmery copper tones, and most especially, the cheek highlights in this special release. My favorite makeups are #3 and #4 - the bottom two pictures below. I don’t often wear the more matte lip makeups but with a deal this good, it’s a steal to get the packs.
(These photos are not post-processed, only cropped and framed)

I normally stick to the champagne tone in the Vogue line but I’ve been experimenting with darker skin tones lately from a variety of skin makers, so I picked up the amber tone as well, which is quite a leap from my usual fair skin.

It’s somewhat serendipitous that I am posting this today - exactly one year since I joined SL - because Adam ‘n Eve was one of the first large shops I visited as a new player. Now, 365 days after I first logged in, I’m revisiting an early haunt via this blog post.
Recently, sachi and Damen re-designed their main shop and released some new items including the skins I am going to show you, new gowns and some amazingly intricate sculpted jewels (which you can also demo before you buy; see a review of one of the new sculpted pieces on SecondStyle here).
On with the skins for this round…
The following 6 makeups are all from the new “Venus” line of skins and feature looks ranging from neutral to quite glam. As with all my skin posts, these snaps are completely free of any post-processing - only cropped and framed on a white background.
From left to right are the Baby Blue, Crimson and Sage makeups

It’s safe to say that skins are very shape dependent. No one should make a judgment not to at least demo based on what one person looks like in a certain skin. Personally, I take a long time choosing a skin outside of my usual skin designers, but I would strongly urge you to check out the wide selection at Adam ‘n Eve, including the Venus line, if you haven’t been in a while. Also note that there is a special skin section featuring very affordable skins, especially good for new players.
