Revisiting Adam ‘n Eve: Venus Skins
It’s somewhat serendipitous that I am posting this today - exactly one year since I joined SL - because Adam ‘n Eve was one of the first large shops I visited as a new player. Now, 365 days after I first logged in, I’m revisiting an early haunt via this blog post.
Recently, sachi and Damen re-designed their main shop and released some new items including the skins I am going to show you, new gowns and some amazingly intricate sculpted jewels (which you can also demo before you buy; see a review of one of the new sculpted pieces on SecondStyle here).
On with the skins for this round…
The following 6 makeups are all from the new “Venus” line of skins and feature looks ranging from neutral to quite glam. As with all my skin posts, these snaps are completely free of any post-processing - only cropped and framed on a white background.
From left to right are the Baby Blue, Crimson and Sage makeups

It’s safe to say that skins are very shape dependent. No one should make a judgment not to at least demo based on what one person looks like in a certain skin. Personally, I take a long time choosing a skin outside of my usual skin designers, but I would strongly urge you to check out the wide selection at Adam ‘n Eve, including the Venus line, if you haven’t been in a while. Also note that there is a special skin section featuring very affordable skins, especially good for new players.

The Venus skins are a hybrid of hand-drawn and select sourced components, resulting in a nice mix that I favor in a skin most of the time. I am not a photoreal skin lover on my own shape but I do often sport fully hand-drawn skins. Still, a nice mix is what I go with most of the time.
The Venus makeups feature a blended complexion, accurate but not overbearing collarbone detail, and earthy eyeshadow and lip colors that change the look from makeup to makeup. The Venus skins are sold in a pack but are also available in singles by IMing sachi. Each pack also comes with matching manicures and pedicures for each makeup, lights and prim lashes.
Below are the Serendipity, Smoke and Natural makeups - the less dramatic of the first batch of makeups in the Venus line. I think these skins would be particularly good for avatars with fuller lips - mine are actually quite thin, relative to many other female avatars I see. I like the eyebrows quite a lot and but I know people are especially picky about those. For me, they work well. I also like that I don’t look angry in this skin. It gives me a slightly bemused and friendly expression that’s less “starving model” if that makes sense.

On to the body. Again I will mention that I don’t do bits or butts here. Yes, I do realize my avatar is a cartoon :p but if you’re on a hunt to uncover blurry nipples or you’re picky about the nether regions, you’ll have to try a demo. For me, the body is well done though admittedly, it’s less important to me than the makeups. The shading is subtle but accurate - which is appreciated, particularly for a smaller avatar where heavy shading can sometimes overpower the shape. In particular, I feel the shoulder blades and tummy are just right. The stomach isn’t a six pack but is actually quite feminine and soft, though defined. The butt is nicely shaped, though perhaps implies a slightly less “perky” posterior than I like.

Try a demo at Adam ‘n Eve on the Genesis sim.
