Pampered Princess: Fashionably Loud

posted in Accessories, In-depth |

A few days ago I wore a hip hugging sweater dress from Lolita Bellman’s Pampered Princess shop and got a lot of questions on where it was from and does it come in other colors (why yes, yes it does) and what the hell are you wearing under it???? So in case you haven’t been by to check out the rest of Lolita’s store, here’s a sampling of what you can find - color, fun, and irreverent styles are the focus. I think it’s safe to say that Lolita offers fashions that are quite unexpected. It’s definitely a change of pace for me and I whole heartedly approve.

Starting with my favorite of what I sampled, the “Party Cheetah” dress. The cheetah print halter top coupled with the shiny taffeta skirt is unorthodox and completely fun. I felt like I should pack up and head to Miami circa 1985 - although I’m a child of the 80s so I probably wouldn’t have been sporting any of this back then ;)

I added the new Chanel studs and not so new chunky heart necklace from Miam Miam to complete a perfectly excessive look ;) All are scripted for easy metal and color change. Oh and of course, my shoes are the Aileen heels from Last Call Vamp. I told you, I married them.

Party Cheetah also comes in two other colored skirts, which by the way, are system skirts (!!!). There is no skirt base provided, so I would advise finding something appropriate to wear underneath unless you’re channeling Sharon Stone for the night.

I like the top especially, which has very well done gathers and piping, and realistically emphasizes the chest just as halter cuts do offline. My AV isn’t that busty but the garment cut helps her out. How I wish I could get this kind of help in my first life! I also love the zip detail on the back.

Next, is the “Pucci Dress” and it very clearly couldn’t be anything else. Much more 70s than 80s, I permanently “borrowed” a few of my mother’s Pucci wrap dresses and still wear them in my first life when the occasion calls for it. As a result, I love this dress, which again, features the system skirt and very realistic sequined texturing.

I will say that if you’re a stickler for 100% perfect seams, there are some matching issues here and there on some of these designs. Admittedly, they don’t bother me much - though I know they bother some, so it’s worth a mention.

Here is the “Leather Mini,” which features a gathered leather top accented with gold studs on the cinched waist. If the system skirt it comes with isn’t your thing, the top can most certainly be worn on its own with other items from your wardrobe…

Like your favorite jeans…or leather pants? Either way, I really like the cut of the top even though the straps aren’t as clean as they could be.

Finally, a newer release - the “Tier Blouse.” This also comes in green and pink, and features a large jeweled front clasp that I really like. The tiered prim is flexi but doesn’t move quite as naturally as say, a flexi skirt - it’s more of a flutter. The texturing is done so that the prim isn’t really optional, and of course, I would have liked to have had the choice. It also comes with a simple pair of pants but I paired it with the Ingrid high waisted trousers from Last Call - and you could probably wear it as a dress with some adjustments if you choose.

Find these items and more - including some select prim accessories - at Pampered Princess. I’d certainly recommend you take a look.
