I’ll start this off by saying how hard it is for me to leave the comfort of Saeya’s Photosphere while blogging something. I like my pose balls - so I had a hell of a time getting out of my comfortsphere and out into the wild, wild grid of no build/no scripts to try to snap something remotely interesting to do this ensemble by Celestial Studios and Last Call a little justice. I didn’t succeed terribly well, but I did try.
By now you’ve seen the creativity that is the “Halloween Enchantress” by Ginny and Starley. Where to begin with such a huge release with so many options? Well, I started at the graveyard. This seasonal Enchantress has orange eyes, horns, wings and a trident, so whether I’m a devil or a bat, it still worked.

There are two routes you can go with this release - the MegaPak, which has every option available (three dress options, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 hairs, 5 skin tones for the skin, spider necklace, wings, horns, eyes, and trident) or the CostumePak, which includes everything but hair and skin, which you can still purchase separately in your favorite color and skin tone.

I’m a dress collector - online and off. I don’t often have the occasion in either world to wear the especially interesting ones - but that doesn’t mean I don’t acquire them with both focus and reckless abandon.
In this entry, I’ll be covering a range of formal gowns and extraordinary dresses - period frocks; goth dresses; modern gowns; fairytale gowns and one of the most dramatic dress in game. I chose each piece for its unique cut, rich textures, detail and/or overall feel. I also want to mention that these dresses are not necessarily new - but each one is special in its own way. I wish I could show all the ones I consider “special” because there are so many more. Special for instance like the two below from Taliah Talamasca’s Wardrobe Trunk (more on these in a moment) or the gown from Shai that I blogged a while back.

I’ll tell you what each one is, who made it and where you can get it, but to be clear, this is a showcase. I loved them all.
Starting with “Lucinda” in rose from RFyre (which is what I am wearing in the first photo as well). I’m attempting to show Raven Pennyfeather’s exquisite texturing on the prims, which is best seen close-up.

Though I live in denial most of the time about a whole host of things, Autumn is definitely here - at least in Boston. It’s raining, 50F and howling with wind. However, there’s no denying that Saeya Nyanda’s newest release at Kyoot Army seriously delivers…
The name is fitting. Strapless tops paired with a snuggly scarf? Works for me.

Denial of Autumn contains exquisitely textured tops in five colors (jacket and shirt layers), combined with knee length skirt and scarf. All the pieces are accented with buckles and the bustier tops, with laced closures. The level of texturing should come as no surprise. This is - after all - the woman who fundamentally changed still modeling with her photosphere with hand drawn backdrops in a gazillion colors and themes. Close-up shots for the detail.

More from Kyoot after the jump…

Maria Gherardi continues to churn out huge releases of colorful separates and full outfits at MG Fashion. Here’s a look at what’s new, what you get and how it looks. Also want to mention that Maria’s good friend Ana Lu is still getting less SL time than usual due to computer problems - hurry back, Ana!
OK. Remember back when sculpties were first released and we all couldn’t wait to see what designers would do with them? I still feel that way every time someone releases something using sculpties. The advances with sculpted shoes, jewelry, wraps, and hats (to name a few) have really changed SL fashion for me. I’ve even begun to love sculpted hair over time. But, how about full garments using sculpties? Well here’s a sculpted skirt from Maria in the form of her “Outono em balão” outfit, roughly translated to “fall in a balloon.”

The skirt is rather balloon-like in that it doesn’t flex. But the shape of the skirt works well and I really like the bold floral pattern, which moves me away from my tendency to stick to neutrals more often than not. Some of you will like the difference in a sculpted skirt and some might not. I walked around in this for some of my time in SL today to see what the reaction was (mostly positive). I know there are other sculpted skirts out there but I either don’t see many of them yet or I don’t realize they’re sculpted. Either way, this is different and I definitely like it.
The outfit tops are beautiful too in autumn brick red, teal and wine. They’re provided on all the layers though you will lose the stripes on the glitch pants if you choose the jacket layer. I stuck with the shirt and underpants layer to make it a little less uniform from top to skirt. They’d also be great to pair with other items in your wardrobe. The outfit also includes tights in three matching tones and a skirt base.
Next are the “Gwyn” knit sweaters in the most beautiful colors with perfectly sculpted cowl neck. I love these sweaters - literally every one of the many, many colors is lovely.

More from Maria after the cut…
