Cherry Tokyo Kimonos

posted in Hair, In-depth, New Releases |

I am not around a ton at the moment but I do log-in for special things and this was one of those times where it was worth it. Now, I don’t have any offline OR online experience with kimonos or Japanese styling, but I am so glad SL gives us the opportunity to experiment with things that me might admire offline but couldn’t necessarily wear.

I am ashamed to say I didn’t know Cherry Tokyo made hair in addition to her beautiful kimonos and accessories. How I missed this, I really don’t know. At any rate, to my delight, she does. That’s what spurred this post in fact.

First is Cherry’s newest hair, called “Yuki.” It comes in five colors and I thought was very beautiful and simple. It’s obviously non-flexi. The two textures below are Black Cherry and Black Maple, but there are five provided in each fat pack.

My favorite of her hairs (and I now own every one in her shop) is Juniper, which is a dramatic, long over the shoulder braid with flexi ends. Juniper is unlike any hair I have in SL, but I am enjoying experimenting, especially with something like this.

I am also wearing one of Cherry’s new Kimonos called, “Tomesode” as well as her new “Zori” shoes and purse sold separately (the purse animates you into the pose you see below). I think it should be quite clear the absolute beauty of Cherry’s work, but just in case, there’s more after the jump.

Next in the hair department is “Umeko,” which also comes in five colors, and with optional fringe bangs, tiara and hair pins. I didn’t take a decent picture without the fringe bangs, but you can certainly wear it that way. The natural black is on the right - my favorite of the textures. Note, wearing the hair pins will take off your prim lashes if you care about that kind of thing.

The last hair available is called “Yukiko,” which comes with optional bangs and hair pins. The bangs are a bit different. Below again is my favorite, the natural black.

Finally, another shot of the newest kimono. The texturing on all the prims is perfect, and the garment itself is very, very beautiful from the system skirt bottom to the rich gold Obi belt. I loved wearing it and will surely wear it again given the opportunity.

Visit Cherry Tokyo Kimonos at her new location.
