Skins from Disembodied Hand
I know there has to be a clever pun to go with this entry somewhere, right?
Disembodied Hand of Steam-Powered Industries - well known especially for his steampunk and the legendary Jump Boots - has just released skins for men and women. And not like 3 skins - we’re talking TONS of them. You can find them at his shop here. I do love new skins to try. (note: edited because The Foot was retired - the shop is Steam-Powered Industries - sorry!)
As a reminder, like all my skin posts, I don’t post process these images in any way. I crop them, frame them and stick them up here.
Below is the first of three makeups (and there are many more) from the Yoru skins. This is Yoru Skin Cream in Natural makeup. I am - like a lot of women - picky about my brows both in SL and offline, so I would have preferred a fuller brow. That said, I do love a nice, natural makeup, so this was my favorite of the ones I tried for everyday use. The lips have a pretty bow and the nose and ears are also very well done.

The whole skin release for women includes 5 tones (Pale, Cream, Tan, Deep Tan, and Dark) and 10 makeup options for each tone. The makeups range from totally natural to creative, original looks like some of the ones below. There is a very wide range to choose from and something to suit every AV’s personality.
On the left is Mr. President also in the cream tone and on the right, the Peachy makeup.

My favorite part about this skin is actually the backside. The back and the bumm specifically. The skin features quite a lot of shading all around - and particularly on both the tummy and back.
But back to the bumm…I think it’s very well done in terms of definition and um, implied perkiness
The lower back has a couple of little realistic dimples that I quite liked as well and you’ll see the shoulder blades and spine are defined, yet still feminine, which is very important to me.

Most often I prefer a soft tummy but the shading here implies someone athletic but not a gym rat. Shading on different shapes is always, well, different - so use all types of lighting settings when you try on your demos. Now, in some spots there are some minor blending issues, but I didn’t find anything distracting beyond a quick note.
Overall, I think the shading really works and shows the care and thought that went into making these realistic, accurate and very feminine - from the tummy muscles to the perfect lower legs.

The décolletage area is also defined with deep shading implying an ample chest area. My AV is quite small all around so for that area, I tried several of my friend Haver’s female shapes from Lemon to see what it would look like. A larger chest does suit the skin a bit better but the shape above is my own and still works I think.

Each skin is priced at $900L, come with prim lashes and are available now
