…while exploring one of the many Japanese sims, all exploding with fashion finds if you have some time to fly around. I spent tonight in Honmoku, which led to some new-to-me finds - in particular, some pretty fantastic shoes and boots from a shop called ::69::. I had been to the sim recently to pick up hats recommended to me at Lapin et Anato (which are great by the way), but this was a return trip with no particular aim.

But first the outfit, which is “Marionette” from amerie’s Naughty by Amerie Spitteler. I loved the lace detail, sculpted cuffs and cropped jacket with prim collar and tie. I have zero idea how new this is, but it’s certainly new to me and I do love it.

But the shoes - the SHOES - are what really prompted my purchase in the first place. They are the “Succubus” pumps in dark cherry from ::69:: by Kumii Yoshikawa, which offers shoes, boots, hats, jewelry and even a couple pieces of furniture. The Succubus pumps come in many colors, and feature skulls (one is wearing a top hat!) and sculpted bows on the back. I really couldn’t resist them when I saw them.

I talked not so long ago about the wide variety of poses available these days in SL. Ana Lutetia, widely known the same we all know for her rapid blogging of the newest of the new releases and rich Flickr photo stream - has recently opened her own pose shop, with model poses for both men and women. The shop is appropriately called AnaLu and you can find it here (as well as several other outposts - check Ana’s picks).

I am definitely picky about the poses I use in this blog because I try to show clothing, skins and other avatar-based accessories in ways that best display them without diverting focus. The focus should be the fashion, not what the avatar is doing (IMHO).

At AnaLu, you’ll find multiple series of male and female poses - available as both singles and packs, and all with copy permissions (also critical and a total mystery why someone would release no copy poses). I believe Ana now has nearly 150 poses in her growing selection, including some cute sits as well as offbeat, less “modelesque” poses.

Last night I attended a preview show for Second Style’s Spotlight III Fashion Showcase (which is happening tonight at 5:00 pm SLT here), featuring designs by several brands including Alaska Metropolitan of OPIUM Everyday. Other fashions in the showcase from: Devilish Cupcake, Sheer, and Chapeau Tres Mignon.

Alaska recently updated her line of affordable casual wear, and attending the spotlight prompted me to take a closer look at what’s now available.

I was very impressed with the simple, quality and completely affordable outfits for sale. I think the highest priced items I found there were 200L, yet so many of the designs are classic staples - little black dresses, tailored suits, detailed lingerie and even one fierce bikini.

These are all very low or even no prim fashions - allowing you to accessorize to your heart’s content. In fact, if you plan on attending a fashion show for example where the lag promises to be hellish, you can still look put together without the prims.

Starting with the most basic of basic, the “Basix” suit with jacket and dress trousers - completely simple, but nicely detailed and affordable for everyone.

The trousers are no prim - so add, sheer stockings to fend off the never ending ankles that SL so lovingly gives us. Both the blazer and the trousers are nicely finished with drawn cuffs.

But it does have something sweet that you could - in theory - wear for that Hallmark holiday. Or any time really.

It’s a pretty little necklace from a shop called Ding! which offers a small selection of jewelry and other prim accessories.

The owner of the shop is Zen Paine, and the creator of this “Chained Heart” necklace that I really fancy is Rue Oh. It’s 249 prims all bundled up to make one of the prettiest little heart necklaces I have seen in SL. Here’s what it looks like on, paired with equally as sweet lingerie from LoveLace. I realize my avatar doesn’t have the ideal figure for lingerie, so just pretend I have hit the sliders.

Or, here it is again but with the new Qamra hair from Philotic Energy and heart hoodie (dollarbie) from Winter Moon (group members also received it in black). Note the heart on the cute hat/hair combo is broken. I am clearly conflicted.
