Bags, Bags everywhere

I know there are mixed views on handbags in SL - it’s not as if you can put anything in them after all. But if you’re like me, and realllllllly enjoy handbags offline (more like, obsessively collect them in my case), I think you’ll find it hard not to take a gander at these new sculpted hobo bags at Celestial Studios to add something unique to your overall look. Obviously, my favorite is the orange patent :p

There are 16 styles in all - from super bright patent leathers to buttery suedes and soft quilts. I found they go perfectly with the Slinky Stilettos from Maitreya, so you can be matchy-matchy if you like. Each bag is provided 4 ways - 2 posed holds by Torrid Midnight (left shoulder and hand) and 2 un-posed, good for if you’re already using an AO that works with handbags or I suppose if you want to flap your bag around as you fly or float? Each is $150L, which is very extremely generous given the quality and options.

New Poses: Curves by Torrid Midnight

I am quite certain I am not the only one who gets all excited about new poses. With all the pose makers out there, there’s certainly no shortage to choose from. Despite that, there are animators and pose makers you go back to over and over because of the consistent quality and variety. Torrid Midnight is one of those for me, and I often use her poses here.

Torrid has just released a new set called “Curves” - 10 new poses with a wide variety of angles and uses. You can pick them up here in the Photosphere store on Saeya’s Silent sim and here at TorridWear in Chartreuse (there are other locations too; check her picks). The pack of 10 is $900L, an excellent value.

There’s still time…

…to pick up a copy of the limited edition “Glam Rock” from Punch Drunk. I know I am late on this, but seeing as there’s only 13 left (just checked 10 minutes ago), if you want one, better hurry to Punch Drunk.

100% of the proceeds from the outfit will benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation - the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. For those who are not yet aware of the organization, it has recently changed its name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure on the 25th anniversary of its founding.

The Glam Rock outfit comes with top, skirt base, prim skirt (panel) and tights. I am actually wearing tights from Glam here, but there is a pair provided in the folder. My shoes are the “Super Dolly” pumps in metallic purple from Periquita. They photograph quite differently in Windlight (which I used here with less than ideal results…again) than the standard viewer, but I assure you, they are a deep purple.

I am enjoying the outfit yes, but the fact that it’s in support of fighting a disease that 1 in 8 women will battle, makes it even better to wear.

Another Fundraiser reminder

You know all about the phenomenon of Eloh Eliot’s full perm skins and source files. You’ve also likely heard of the fundraising campaign under way to use this unique opportunity for something much larger than SL. That’s where Another Fundraiser comes in and here’s how you get involved. If you’re participating, all submissions are due by Midnight SLT the 21st of January 2008.

All money raised through Another Fundraiser will be donated to UNICEF.

I’ll admit that I have tried my hand at this and have not created anything remotely worthy - but it’s been a great learning experience for me. I have definitely admired some of the mods I have seen so far on the Flickr stream dedicated to the effort.

Step-by-step directions for how to participate after the jump…
