On Sunday, January 13 at 5:00 p.m. SLT, Glam World will be hosting its first artist showcase, featuring original photography by Torrid Midnight.

Torrid’s photography is truly breathtaking - capturing emotion, depth and beauty resulting in some of the most moving avatar-based photography in Second Life.

Leave it to Megg Demina of Chapeau tres Mignon to create yet another way for us to accessorize in a completely original way. I was a fan of Megg’s unusual accoutrements since I believe I first saw one in-world on the just as memorable, Mariya Nesiote. Megg’s wares are incredibly unique - adding so much to your avatar - literally from head to toe.

This is the new 1920’s Antique Headress -reminiscent of Megg’s Satyr necklace but with deep green beading, cameos and chocolate ribbons. Her note says, “While in Paris, drifting dreamily from room to room in the tiny 6th floor apartment of my grand-mere on rue de la Gaité, I discoverd a small box that contained this beautiful jet beaded cameo headress from the 1920’s…I imagine my grand-mere as a jeune fille, how pretty she must have looked!. I know you will also be tres tres jolie wearing it…non?”

Oui!

I was very excited to photograph it, and told Megg I needed to find the right dress to wear with it. She suggested Shai’s flapper dresses, and the Fern Gully dress from Casa del Shai seemed to fit the bill. The scripted skirt that gently lifts was perfect for the occasion, as was the rich green color, which I love with gold accessories.

As often happens after the holidays, my first life has taken a very busy turn, so time in SL is a bit short. However, the new releases from MG Fashion pushed me to get back into the Photosphere and start snapping. Although I can’t show them all (this particular ensemble is available in eight colors), I picked my favorite of the “Hunting Season” outfits, which come with numerous options. Maria also released skirt and sweater separates as part of a substantial new year release.

When Maria Gherardi releases, it’s always huge - as are the number of pieces she includes in each pack. With each Hunting Season outfit, you get the knit sweater (all layers) with optional sculpted arm and neck prims (I prefer it without the arm prims), the cropped trousers in two styles (low and high-rise - also provided with layer options), sculpted prim cuffs, corset (and associated layers), single shoulder top (yup, layers), and tights.

I love layer options - they are a must - but unpacking and then organizing them in a way that allows you to best mix them later can be overwhelming for compulsive inventory sorters who are constantly trying to keep organized. To help me out, I keep hold of the ad provided in the folder so that I can reference some of the ways to wear the layers again later. In particular, I can see myself using the trousers and corset very often. I think this is actually my favorite MG Fashion release to date.
