And now, for something completely different

When I wrote my most recent post on Fuse, I originally had a long, wordy explanation of what I guess I would call my usual “style” offline, which I decided not to post because I can’t imagine anyone actually caring lol. Keeping it short, I am typically obscenely preppy and have been my whole life. One of the joys of playing dress up in SL, is the ability to wear anything we want - given our moods - whether it’s like our real selves, or to push our comforts a bit. A few weeks ago, I enjoyed the totally different (for me) fashions of Crimson Shadow, and now, I have more! Including the dress that I seriously coveted when I saw it at the fashion show by Moxie Polano (creator for Tailor Made).

The outfit includes sculpted top hat and veil, gloves bodice, skirt base, stockings, arm accents and two types of flexi skirts (short option shown above). It also comes with a full skirt and very long train, which is dramatic to say the least. I know I won’t likely wear that beyond the confines of my Photosphere, but seriously, it’s gorgeous. I did snap a shot of it though (seen later).

The shoes I am wearing are new from Damen Gorilla at Adam n Eve. They’re the “Volar” sculpted heels - completely sculpted down to the chain and dove on the heel. Few may notice, but you will know it’s there and it’s a lovely touch. They come in numerous colors - in complementing colored pairs for $400L.
*As an aside, all these snaps were taken in Windlight (not post processed) and I realize they’re quite bright. Still trying to get used to the new viewer and doing a lot of tinkering with settings. Will keep working on it.
More after the jump…
Next is this red, long dress - called “Red Long Dress” :p It’s almost Alice in Wonderland-ish and my favorite part is of course, the collar - and the color. I rarely wear red in either life and this is such a rich, royal shade. It also comes with shoulder prim accents that didn’t suit my avatar well but I love the drama (in the dress, mind) and totally enjoyed wearing it. I don’t know about anyone else, but even if I rarely pull them out, I want beauties like this in my inventory so I can admire them at will.

Finally, something less joyful but no less beautiful. This is the “Midnight Blue” dress with two types of skirts, veil, bodice, rose ruffle accents, gloves, skirt base, and even shoes. The bodice won me over as soon as I put it on and the slim skirt is sheer and silky. You needn’t wear the ruffles or the veil - but for full effect, why wouldn’t you?

The full skirt is quite flexi and you can almost hear it rustling. Reminiscent of Gone With the Wind - which is perhaps my favorite novel of all time - it may be a bit *much* for everyday SL, but that’s the beauty of it.

If you haven’t been by Crimson Shadow just yet, I would encourage you to visit soon. The pieces in the whole collection (by many designers) are incredibly unique and worth acquiring as your budget allows.
And with that, here’s the full skirt on the bridal gown in all its excess.
