Winter seasonal skins by Starley Thereian

\o/ Some of you knew these were coming, and here they are after months of trying to squash a bug that wouldn’t let her save skins!

Four new seasonal make-ups from Starley’s Vogue line of skins at Celestial Studios. They feature the cheek highlights we were introduced to with the Autumn skins, truly beautiful eyeshadows and both neutral, glossy and bold lips in plum and chocolate. The below snaps are all shown in my usual champagne tone and YES for you freckle lovers, you get freckled options with each make-up as well. You can see all the prettiness with much better photos at Starley’s blog as well.

If you wear prim lashes, you’ll want to choose a pair that best shows off the eyes on these skins. The eyeshadows are truly magnificent and heavier lashes will hide them. I chose Starley’s own Vogue lashes (size 3) for these snaps, which you will conveniently find included with the skins you purchase. I know prim lashes can be a PITA to fit, but I have found that having several pairs that work for different skins is very helpful.

Reminder - I do not post-process skin snapshots. These were taken in the production (non-Windlight) viewer.

Winter 1 - plum stained lips, lightly blushed cheeks and a smoky eye.

Winter 2 - Neutral lips, soft blush and gorgeous iridescent eyes (this makeup absolutely works best with lighter lashes)

See 3 and 4, plus the freckles, after the cut…

And now, for something completely different

When I wrote my most recent post on Fuse, I originally had a long, wordy explanation of what I guess I would call my usual “style” offline, which I decided not to post because I can’t imagine anyone actually caring lol. Keeping it short, I am typically obscenely preppy and have been my whole life. One of the joys of playing dress up in SL, is the ability to wear anything we want - given our moods - whether it’s like our real selves, or to push our comforts a bit. A few weeks ago, I enjoyed the totally different (for me) fashions of Crimson Shadow, and now, I have more! Including the dress that I seriously coveted when I saw it at the fashion show by Moxie Polano (creator for Tailor Made).

The outfit includes sculpted top hat and veil, gloves bodice, skirt base, stockings, arm accents and two types of flexi skirts (short option shown above). It also comes with a full skirt and very long train, which is dramatic to say the least. I know I won’t likely wear that beyond the confines of my Photosphere, but seriously, it’s gorgeous. I did snap a shot of it though (seen later).

The shoes I am wearing are new from Damen Gorilla at Adam n Eve. They’re the “Volar” sculpted heels - completely sculpted down to the chain and dove on the heel. Few may notice, but you will know it’s there and it’s a lovely touch. They come in numerous colors - in complementing colored pairs for $400L.

*As an aside, all these snaps were taken in Windlight (not post processed) and I realize they’re quite bright. Still trying to get used to the new viewer and doing a lot of tinkering with settings. Will keep working on it.

More after the jump…

New at Fuse

Jonathan Hugo is one of my favorite new designers in SL (no secret, I know). I guess given how fast fashion moves here, he’s not really considered brand spanking new anymore, but I said when I first blogged Fuse back in the autumn that I thought his designs would be filling up many folders in my inventory over time. And they did.

Jonathan recently released several separates for both men and women, as well as a women’s suit - and as usual, my favorites were the tops. Seen above and below are the “Candy” top separates in three springy color combinations and available on the jacket layer. I definitely think beach in these - which is welcome, given I live in the cold Northeast US and it’s February.

My favorite release is actually supposed to be for the men (men’s jeans were also released) - but I love the hand drawn tie on these “Oxford” v-neck sweaters, which come in four colors on the jacket layer. My hair is new from Truth called, “Deux” which is a perfect low pony tail that I love (and asked him to make). It comes with a color change bow, that you can also make transparent (as below) on touch and menu. I am wearing it in the panama color, but Truth just redid his textures and there are now so many more colors to choose from.

Wholeeee buncha’ pants

Starley Thereian, who I sometimes call Starleypants, has lived up to her nickname - releasing what can only be described as the biggest load of pants EVER at Celestial Studios. But not just pants, belts too. And not just 5 or 6 - there are actually 24 colors, fabrics, washes in all. You’ve probably seen them on her blog, and indeed, it’s hard to choose a favorite pair with all the choices…

Before you say, “how many ways can jeans really be done in SL?” let me tell you why I think these are worth a look and a click.

1. The options you get are unrivaled. 3 styles of pants, 3 kinds of sculpted attachments, and all appropriate layers in every pack.
2. The pockets are not oddly below your butt. I don’t get the pockets not on the butt thing, so happily, these are where they should be.
3. Completely seamless from sculpted cuff to where the “fabric” begins.
4. Variety. There is literally something for everyone. Crisp, deep washes to distressed cords in numerous colors.
5. Price. You get all the options, all the attachments and styles for $100L for each pair and $25L for the belts.

The belts are textured and perfectly match the belt loops in the cords or jeans you buy. There are 14 types of belt options, provided on both the jacket and pants layers. From patents and suedes, to grommets and plaids, they’re a great way not to fuss with fitting prim belts, while still adding a necessary finishing accessory.

The cuffs come in three styles - skinny, boot cut and flared. I favor the skinny ones, as I tend to go more streamlined most of the time.
