Today at 1:00 p.m. SLT a new shop by Rachel Breaker and Chav Paderborn opens. It’s called Bland…which it really isn’t judging by all the colors set out. I won’t be here for the opening so I popped over this morning and grabbed a couple things that looked different.

The skirt (called Stripey Dress) and the shoes (called White Bowed Heels) were both made by Rachel, but there is quite a bit of inventory already out from both. From what I can tell, Rachel’s smaller inventory features a distinctly stylistic hand-drawn look, while Chav’s is focused more on hand-drawn basics and complete outfits - dresses, tops, trousers - mostly in very bright colors. There are also purses, shoes and glasses available.
I’m planning to go back and spend some more time looking but I have to run off to play RL today!

Check out the opening if you’re around at Bland. I noticed a freebie box as well

I attended the very well produced launch of the new Glam Magazine today. There were nearly a dozen designers presented in all, including the highly anticipated Paper Couture Spring line, gorgeous new footwear from Maitreya (seriously, amazing), and a new clothing line from Thora Charron and MM Skins!
I crashed promptly after these photos, but here’s a glimpse of what we can expect to see from Paper Couture. In typical PC fashion, it is wearable art. Please, forgive the unrezzed or unclear - my computer actually blue screened after crashing and these are straight from SL with no processing. I expect many others have far better snaps than these, which I expect we’ll see soon.

Tonight at midnight SLT is your last chance to visit and purchase the Another Skin mods with all benefits going to UNICEF. If you haven’t been by yet, please go and pick up as many as you possibly can for $50L each. You can find them all at Another Fundraiser.

With the uproar in the community against content theft, it seems to me to be an appropriate time to support an effort that demonstrates the collaborative and philanthropic side of the fashion community. Supporting a worthy and global charity is always worthwhile. I applaud those artists, organizers and patrons who have participated in this effort - and of course, it’s all been made possible by Eloh Eliot.
You can find skins like this from Muse’s Caliah Lyon, called “Celestine,” which is surely one of the most beautiful and different mods there.

See more of my favorites…

I recently attended a fashion show featuring new releases from Crimson Shadow - the collaborative effort between designers for Rezzable - the creative company behind such sims as Greenies and Carnival of Doom. Not only was the show incredibly well produced, the clothing from designers Allegory Malaprop, hyasynth Tiramisu, Draconic Lioncourt, Kaeli Candour, and Moxie Polano, was stunning. Items shown at the event are available at both the Crimson Shadow and the Carnival of Doom sims.
I headed out to purchase a few of the items I saw on the runway. Admittedly, these are styles that I don’t wear on a regular basis, which actually made it a lot more fun.
If you haven’t yet visited the Carnival of Doom sim, the backdrop for a few of the snaps here, it’s brilliant and you must go when you have an hour to play around. You’ll absolutely want to use Windlight if possible.
If you make a wrong move at the Carnival (be sure to wear your HUD), you’ll soon find yourself in Hell. But it’s not fire and brimstone, it’s elevator music and bad decor. The only way out is to wear your balloon and wait your turn. Luckily, I found another sinner there - Woo Soon.

You do finally get out and it’s anyone’s guess what might be beyond that door.
