(Special) Saucy

No I am not going to break out into the McDonalds theme song from forever ago. If you’re too young to remember, well then this won’t make any sense.

Before now, Jayde Lisle was known to me as a fashion observer and commentator. Now, she has just joined the designer ranks with her new shop, “Saucy.” Jayde describes the designs as “fun, flirty, sassy” and based on what I’ve seen, I’d have to agree.

I’m showing a couple different designs that Jayde kindly shared. I am completely non-talented in the artistic department so you’ll never see me trying to design anything in SL - I have much admiration for those who do it.

On to Saucy!

First up are the “Laurel” shorts in stone (they come in 5 colors). They’re quite smart - less slouchy and more starchy, with very minimal “wrinkle” shading back or front. (Note: I paired them with one of my many tie back polos from Emma at Sand Shack Surf just to spare you my pixel boobs). The Laurel shorts are $80L or $250L for the 5 color fatpack.

The other outfit is the “Briana” capris outfit in water. I love the top on this and even though I am not typically a capris wearer, I really like the detailed little bow on the pants. Briana is $125L or $450L for the 6 color fatpack.

Next up, the dresses. On the right is the “Veronica” dress in red. It’s very fun with a drop waist (remember those?) and bold paisley pattern. I don’t personally love paisley in general but that’s just my preference and I still think the dress works. Veronica is $250L or $900L for the 5 color fatpack.

The dress on the left is “Starla” in plum. This was my favorite of the designs and has very pretty silver star detailing on the skirt and bodice. The prims are copy/mod/no trans, so you can safely shrink the skirt a bit to suit you if needed. My avatar seems to be on the small side by SL standards so it kind of swallowed me when I first put it on. I very much like both dresses, especially the way the prims move - very flouncy all around. Starla is $225L or $500L for the 3 color fatpack.

I look forward to seeing what Jayde comes out with next because she clearly has great potential.

Sh*t Happens

Yep, that is does.

But Ana Boogiewoogie, owner and designer of a boutique by the same name probably means it in a better way than I do.

Honestly, I hadn’t shopped at Sh*t Happens before but I was very happy I came across it. I *think* it’s recently redone and she’s put out new designs as well.

Now before I show you my picks, please note - I dunno why I am attracted to big bows lately. But I am. Admitted. Perhaps I am making up for the fact that I never got to wear all those cute little Easter dresses that the other girls did. I had to laugh to myself that I continue to pick the “girlie” stuff while friends like Jelly are much more on the edge (that’s not a review but they are great finds and I fully plan on checking them out). Moving on…

Below is the “Lily Rug” dress, which is an interesting name for a dress that reminds me of anything but a rug. Perhaps it’s the tassles? So this dress is adorable and fun in a “why yes, that’s a big yellow bow” way. It has pants, top, yellow prim bow, and 2 flexi skirts - one with multi-colored hearts and one with muted hearts. Both have the well done flouncy crinoline that really moves as you walk. So while I know this probably isn’t a dress for everyone or everyday, I wanted to show a sampling of the range of items you can find at Ana’s shop. The Lily Rug dress is $175.

My favorite piece from Ana is the “Stripey Suspender” dress, which is top, pants, jacket (that’s where the suspenders come in) and prim skirt. I just love it all around. I don’t know how new it is, but it’s on the “new” wall, along with a dozen or so other dresses and outfits. She also has tattoos and very fun-colored bangles (currently wearing “Snowy Orange”), so I’m certain there’ll be something there that works for everyone. The Stripey Suspender dress is $125 and bangles are $25, which you can’t beat.

Damn you woman! (or Savvy? has my number)

Forgive the gush but yup, Dakota Buck has done it again, at least for this girl. Her new Soli outfit makes me very, very happy - and that’s kind of hard considering that I worked for a bazillion hours and then rode my horse in 90+ heat and humidity. I’m bloody tired but I am kind of in love again…with the outfit :P Not as much time for SL these days, but this was worth logging in for, even post-update :)

With Soli you get all the layer options you have come to love with Dakota’s designs - skirt (well only one layer for that of course), shirt (3 layers) and very versatile leggings (2 layers). In fact, you can do a lot of mixing and matching in your wardrobe with this number I think. The shirt is (again) so well done - light and “puckered” - with a cute flexi tie for a finishing touch. It’s a fun and different look - and though I am constantly saying this, I do love the way Dakota uses the system skirt as a staple in many of her designs. Soli is $200L, which you also have to love.

Last Call Homme (aka, now stop whining)

last-call-mens_shared.jpg

Yay for Ginny because this week she put out some new men’s clothes, which makes me happy for one reason: now I don’t have to listen to Blue Hair complain about the lack of new men’s clothing at LC any longer :)))) So very happy about that. I sent Blue Hair to pick out what he liked, which was risky but he did well ;)

Adec is a casual dresser so obviously he loved this week’s release, which is particularly suited for mixing and matching. Although of course, since his inventory is quite literally a labyrinth, this might actually be hard on him lol. I should mention, he probably would never change if I didn’t nag him :P

Before I put up the snaps, I should just acknowledge that I know there are great blogs out there specifically catering to men’s fashion in SL and they have likely long since covered these, but since I get kinda tired of blogging my own avatar, I’m going to do it anyway. Plus, Blue Hair tells me he likes being my mannequin model. As a result, I am thinking of changing his current group title to something more befitting of a catwalker…because currently it just says, “crankypants.”

First Adec chose the Ribelle set, which is loads of layered or single Ts and great jeans with scuplted cuffs. This is definitely my favorite of the casuals because it’s a look I like on men in RL. I had to sneak into one of his snaps, to which he said “get out - i r supermodel!”

Next set he chose was Casuale, which I think is a fancy way of saying casual ;) Yup it’s comfy and casual but I think, very smart. Comes with four sweaters (or jumpers as Blue Hair says) and chinos, again with sculpted legs. We both the loved the powder blue color, called “tide.”

Without me telling him to, he also picked up one of the tuxedos from the “Perfect Evening” line that Ginny released a while back. It’s completely different than other tuxes I have seen and looks great on Adec. No close-ups, but I leave you with this snap of me and the Blue Haired Supermodel, dancing in our Last Call finest :)

Dance with me

You all know where Last Call is I know ^^

I know I am long-winded…but I am back from vacation and at RL work again so probably fewer posts from me ^^
