Marni Grut has just wrapped up (or is wrapping up?) a massive sale at her brand Royal Blue. Only to make way for a whole slew of new inventory - including some of the goodies I fancied and will show you here.

It bears repeating that for me, Marni is one of the most interesting people I have met in SL (and one of the funniest). Some of her humor shows in her work at times - but no matter how you view the wares of this RL art student, she’s incredibly true to what her inspires her and not what might make her bank. Although I hope there’s lots of that too!

The trousers above are the “Harem High Waists” (Harem, of course) in taupe. There is no top, so build your own look around them. I opted for the rather simple, and I think perhaps even early Autumn look here with stark white tights and leather bag.

My skins are all new from Blowpop, and I told Annyka this, but her make-ups just get better and better. I love the strong lips in the “Shades of Valena” collection and especially the subtle blush of the “Keeping Up with the Rossinis” collection - both variants of the new Tuesday line.

“Lick, Don’t Bite” is the tagline for Annyka Bekkers‘ brand of Blowpop skins. I’ve blogged her generations many times before and I love all of them, though “Tuesday” is now perhaps my favorite. I know the world blogged Tuesday long before (I’m slowwww these days), but I spent a good chunk in SL this weekend and focused on wearing these lovelies much of the time.

You know the drill - 6 tones, 4 collections, 3 make-ups per tone, freckles, black/brown brows and only 950L for singles! The collection I chose to build the looks around are the Tuesday “All Day” collection, featuring 3 distinct make-ups to take you from dawn ’til dusk.

I’ll get to Tuesday After Dark in a moment, but my other favorite make-ups of the 4 collections released are the “Shir” collection make-ups, shown here in the Honey tone. They’re totally pretty, and are my 100% favorite Blowpop skins to-date.

I seem to be doing quite a few skin posts lately, but there are great new ones to talk about. Not the least of which are new make-ups from Annyka Bekkers and her Mellie 3 skins at Blowpop. Did you know that Annyka also won “Best New Skin Designer” from Second Style Magazine? This was the first “Second Stylies,” recognizing exceptional contributions from content creators in a host of categories. It was a lot of fun putting together and I hope it’s a tradition that we’ll continue next year. Congrats, Annyka!

So there are two new packs out at Blowpop - 4 just released make-ups with unbelievably dramatic eyes and 4 “Black Mamba” make-ups with deep, smoky eyes. You get great options with each make-up purchase (brown/black eyebrows, freckled versions and optional trim on the underwear layer) but even better pricing than before. The new price for each single is $950L, with packs of 4 makeups for only $2850L. That’s quite a discount and well worth it.

My favorites are the colorful eyes (my top pick “Midori” is shown above) - although honestly, all the make-ups are unique and it was hard to choose a favorite.

For the Black Mamba pack released, there are four choices in make-ups - ranging from light lips to a bolder red. Below are 2 make-ups in the freckled versions. All my snaps are in the Cream tone (no post processing - just consolidating, cropping and framing).

Annyka Bekkers has just released new makeups for her skin brand, Blowpop. Part of the “Mellie 3 skins,” they’re edgier makeups than the first 3s released - with great eyes and lips. Mellie 3 debuted just weeks ago at Skin Fair and already some new makeups to try.

Reminder: these snaps have not been post-processed, simply cropped and framed.

All these makeups were snapped using the Release Client with Windlight technology, which for me, tends to make all my skins look a shade lighter than non-Windlight viewers. There are some skins I much prefer in Windlight, and this is one of them. I don’t know if Annyka worked on them in Windlight - but they seem to be optimized for the more realistic lighting you get using that client.

Mellie 3 Seether in Caramel tone

For me, this third generation skin has great improvements over the earlier generation (which is still for sale half off at the Talisman location). The biggest issue for me with the earlier skins had been the eyebrows - even being mod, they were still tricky for me to get right and I much prefer not to have to mess with sliders if I can help it. With the Mellie 3s, there are now 2 options in “trim” - brown and black - and overall, the look is just much more everyday usable for me. I did create a bald especially for the Mellie 3 skins, which you may want to try as well.

Mellie 3 Screamer in Caramel tone

With each makeup that you purchase for $1250L you get 8 options with different black/brown trim for eyebrows and lady bits, plus freckled versions, which are very natural looking freckles sprinkled around your face and shoulders. All the makeups I am showing here are in the Caramel tone (my favorite) and all with the subtle freckles, which I notice are quite hard to see in the Release Client. But they’re there, and very nice.
