Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend yesterday’s Spring Ball as I was busy getting sunburned at a horseshow, but I have seen snaps of the party and everyone looked fantastic. I am however, enjoying my new “Laura” skin from Fleur - one of numerous new skins released by Roslin and CJ as part of a larger collaboration with Nicky Ree, Calla hair and Alienbear.

Though I was tempted to don one of the absolutely stunning ball gowns released by Nicky, I went with the more svelte “Laura” gown to accompany its namesake make-up (it’s also something I can wear a bit more methinks). The dress color is raven and it’s uniquely beautiful, as all of Nicky’s gowns are. The prim skirt attachments are scripted but I turned them all off, as I prefer not to mess with sit scripts.

Part of the Vivant line, the Laura skin is available in all six tones, with dramatic lined eyes and wine lips. Above are the palest cream and almond tones (my personal favorite).

Ever go through your inventory and start to revisit some of your old favorite landmarks?

They might have new releases, or they might not - but either way, there’s usually “new to me” inventory to be had. That’s what I’ve been doing the last few days…revisiting a whole host of shops to see if I have missed anything.

One of my first stops was an old favorite, BBBM. Every time I go, I find something else I want, even if I have seen it before. I also find that you can build so many different looks with Evelyn’s quirky and creative clothing…

Case in point, my best pal Woovis (Wednesday Soon) sporting a completely contrasting style to my own. I have missed you, Woo! <3

Torrid Midnight has put out two completely awesome pose sets - one titled, “Vain” (perfect for so many, no?) - and a great “Benchwarmer” set with scripted bench and multiple poses.

Along with shamelessly collecting hair, shoes, and skins, poses are probably my other guilty pleasure. If you’re a blogger, photographer, model, etc., it’s probably the most important “accessory” you have, and pose choice totally matters IMHO. Torpants has never steered us wrong - and offers some of the most well-crafted poses at awfully reasonable prices.

I don’t know about you, but I’m finding it harder and harder to spend any real time in SL doing the things I love due to grid performance. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to log-in on off hours (like 3:00 a.m.?) just to be able to attach my hair, TP, have a store rez fully and receive purchases >.< Until now it’s never been a huge deal to me - but lately, it just makes me cranky.

However, I finally was able to mess around with two contrasting looks on Sunday. One casual and one a bit more smart. I suspect I’ll still be wearing this first one for a few days given that it’s what I logged out wearing…and who knows when SL will let me change it. Not that it matters since I’m fond of it.

Yep, Gillian in blonde hair. I used to wear blonde in SL all the time but since I have very dark hair in RL, I eventually switched to dark here too. However, I wanted to try the new MMS hair textures and blonde just looked better with this hair I thought.

It’s my turn for a late rave about the “Venus” sandals from HUB…they’re completely awesome and I love them. I’m also totally loving the new “Kamoana Shell” sets from Earthtones.
